Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer located in San Jose, CA. The Senior Machine Learning Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing machine learning models. Day-to-day tasks include developing algorithms, conducting research on neural networks and pattern recognition, and applying statistical methods for data analysis. The role also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate machine learning solutions into AI security frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models and AI algorithms for production environments
Build and maintain scalable AI infrastructure, including data pipelines, model training systems, and inference engines
Collaborate with software engineers to integrate AI capabilities into full-stack applications (React + Go preferred)
Optimize model performance, latency, and resource utilization for production-scale deployments
Research and implement state-of-the-art AI techniques, including LLMs, computer vision, and natural language processing
Develop and maintain MLOps pipelines for continuous model training, validation, and deployment
Work with large datasets to extract insights and improve model accuracy
Mentor junior team members and contribute to AI best practices across the organization
Partner with product teams to translate business requirements into technical AI solutions
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in machine learning, deep learning, or AI engineering
Strong proficiency in Python and AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn)
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
Solid understanding of ML fundamentals including supervised/unsupervised learning, neural networks, and statistical modeling
Experience with data engineering tools and practices (SQL, ETL pipelines, data warehousing)
Proficiency in version control systems and collaborative development practices
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related field
Experience with AI security and safeguarding models against threats is a plus
Must be local to San Jose, CA area - this position is on-site only
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) and generative AI technologies
Knowledge of MLOps tools and practices (MLflow, Kubeflow, or similar)
Experience with real-time inference systems and model serving frameworks
Familiarity with full-stack development, particularly React and Go
Experience with AI-assisted development tools and code generation
Background in computer vision, NLP, or other specialized AI domains
Previous startup or fast-paced environment experience
Publications or contributions to open-source AI projects
