The Student Opportunity Skills Team plays a pivotal role in delivering the internationalisation objectives outlined in the Education Strategy, making a tangible impact on both international and domestic students.
The postholder will be integral to the ongoing development and expansion of the Intercultural Training programme, ensuring it meets the diverse needs of the student body.
This role involves not only coordinating and administering the current programme but also contributing to its design and delivery, ensuring high-quality training through the development and monitoring of facilitators. This hands-on role provides a rewarding experience, allowing the postholder to directly influence the quality and effectiveness of training at Warwick.
Moreover, the role offers the chance to engage in meaningful project work that embeds internationalisation initiatives within the student experience and academic curricula. By working collaboratively with various institutional and external partners, the postholder will help enhance the student experience and improve participation in internationalisation activities across the university. This collaborative approach ensures that the postholder can build a broad network of professional relationships, further enriching their career.
The role also involves regular sector benchmarking, both in the UK and internationally, ensuring that Warwick remains at the leading edge of internationalisation in Higher Education. Flexible Working
We will consider applications for employment on a part-time or other flexible working basis (e.g. job share), despite the position being advertised as full-time.
About You
The successful candidate will possess an excellent educational background, typically including at least an upper second-class honours degree or equivalent. They will have experience working with international students in higher or further education settings, facilitating their integration into the wider student body. Additionally, they will have experience delivering training to international students and working on collaborative projects with students, academic departments, and other professional service providers. An awareness of and sensitivity to other cultures and issues related to international education is crucial.
Strong project management skills are essential. The candidate will have highly developed communication skills, both written and oral, with a keen attention to detail. They will excel in presentation, teaching, and facilitation, engaging both staff and student audiences effectively.
The candidate must be able to command respect and manage a wide range of internal and external contacts. They will have highly developed problem-solving skills to handle difficult situations autonomously, including during training delivery. Excellent administrative and organisational skills are required to manage administrative and record-keeping systems efficiently. The candidate will also have excellent skills in using MS Office desktop applications and teaching facilitation software and possess a high level of numeracy and the ability to analyse and draw conclusions from data.
