Job Description:

We are hiring an experienced Java Developer to work for us as our direct, W2 salaried or hourly employee to join our team. You will:

Lead the redevelopment of legacy COBOL code into Java solutions.
Collaborate with other developers to deliver business-critical Java applications.
Utilize best practices to establish and refine coding standards.
Engage in agile/iterative development to provide regular progress updates.
Design, code, test, and document Java application components.
Work closely with IT team members and subject matter experts to determine solution approaches.
Adhere to timelines and development goals, ensuring application stability and functionality.
Troubleshoot and resolve application bugs.
Provide technical training and documentation for IT staff.
Maintain application software security and integrity.

Required Skills and Experience:

10 years of industry/professional experience in Java solution development in the Windows environment.
10 years of experience with Java Persistence API (JPA).
10 years of experience with SQL.
10 years of experience with RESTful web services.
10 years of experience with JUnit.
Ability to propose, document, and implement software project lifecycle solutions.
Excellent written and oral communication skills with technical and business teams.

Desired Skills and Experience:

Experience working with and understanding COBOL code.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
Experience working with JavaScript frameworks and Single-page Application (SPA) solutions such as Angular or Blazor.
