Job Summary

The Snowflake Administrator is responsible for managing, monitoring, and optimizing Snowflake data warehouse environments. This role ensures high availability, performance, security, and cost efficiency while supporting data engineering and analytics teams.

Key Responsibilities

Administer and maintain Snowflake environments, including user access, roles, warehouses, databases, and schemas
Monitor system performance, query usage, and storage to optimize cost and efficiency
Implement security best practices, including role-based access control and data governance
Perform data loading, troubleshooting, and incident resolution
Manage environment provisioning, upgrades, and change deployments
Support backup, recovery, and data retention policies
Collaborate with data engineers, BI teams, and stakeholders to support data needs
Automate administrative tasks using SQL and scripting where applicable

Required Skills & Qualifications

Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake administration
Proficiency in SQL and Snowflake security concepts
Experience with data warehousing and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Knowledge of performance tuning, cost optimization, and monitoring
Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools and data pipelines
Good communication and troubleshooting skills

Nice to Have

Snowflake certification
Experience with Python or shell scripting
Knowledge of data governance and compliance standards
