Job title: Senior Business System Analyst (Financial Services Domain Experience)

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid Position)

Duration: Long Term Contract Role

Required Skills:

Must have experience working as a Business Analyst /Business System Analyst in Canadian banks.
7+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or similar role.
Proven experience in banking domain.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Experience creating BRD, FRD, Interface Specifications, Data Mapping documents, and traceability matrices.
Ability to collaborate with technology teams and functional SMEs, clarify ambiguities, and drive resolution.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate closely with Product Owners to gather and document detailed business and technical requirements.
Conduct data mapping and analysis to support system integration efforts.
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation to support project delivery.
Create structured plans and roadmaps (“plan for a plan”) to guide sequencing and execution.
Navigate complex legacy systems (“peeling the layers of spaghetti”) to identify dependencies and integration points.
Proactively follow up with stakeholders to ensure timely completion of tasks.
Manage expectations across cross-functional teams and leadership.
Support process navigation and ensure alignment with organizational standards and compliance.
Provide domain and functional expertise in standard banking operations and technology.
