Role Title: IT Business Analyst
Employment Type: Contract
Duration: 6–9 Months (Possible Extension / Contract-to-Hire)
Location: Milwaukee or Chicago (4 days onsite, 1 day remote)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst with strong expertise in Supply Chain, Warehouse Management (WMS), and Transportation Management (TMS). This role will support core functions across distribution, transportation, inventory management, planning, and forecasting. The ideal candidate excels at partnering with business stakeholders to define scope, gather requirements, and translate operational needs into clear, actionable technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with Supply Chain, Warehouse, and Transportation teams to understand operational processes, gather requirements, and define project scope.
Support initiatives across distribution, transportation, inventory management, and forecasting.
Analyze current workflows to identify process improvements that enhance accuracy and efficiency.
Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring thorough documentation of functional requirements, process flows, and user stories.
Support enhancements, integrations, and configurations for the organization’s custom/homegrown WMS platform.
Partner with cross-functional teams on testing, issue resolution, and production support.
Assist with system upgrades, continuous improvement projects, and optimization efforts.
Provide analytical insights and data-driven recommendations to improve supply chain performance.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience as an IT Business Analyst within Supply Chain, WMS, or TMS environments.
Strong understanding of distribution, transportation, inventory management, and forecasting processes.
Experience supporting or integrating with WMS/TMS solutions; experience with custom or legacy systems is a plus.
Hands-on experience with SAP (preferred) or JD Edwards within supply chain or logistics modules.
Proven ability to translate business needs into technical requirements, documentation, and user stories.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to partner effectively with both business and IT teams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives.
Preferred Skills
Experience with SAP Supply Chain modules such as MM, WM, EWM, or TM.
Background supporting distribution or fulfillment center operations.
Familiarity with data analysis, reporting tools, and process mapping (Visio, Lucidchart, etc.).
