We’re Hiring: Senior Data Engineer (W2 Only | US Citizens/GC Holders Only)

We’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join a long-term engagement with a leading financial services organization (client name confidential). This is a high-impact role focused on building and scaling enterprise-grade data platforms that support critical compensation, sales, and reporting ecosystems.

Role Overview

As a Senior Data Engineer, you’ll design, build, and support operational & analytical capabilities across a large-scale data platform. The work is hands-on and production-focused, involving solution design, data analysis, rollout, and long-term platform support.

You’ll be working heavily with:

Java Spring Batch (ETL transformations)

AWS

Oracle

Strong SQL for querying & validation

Nice to have: Python, Snowflake, financial domain exposure

Important: ETL here is Java-based, not Informatica. Candidates without strong Java ETL experience will not be considered.

Must-Have Skills

6–8 years overall experience in Data Engineering
4–6 years Java development with Spring (Spring Batch required)
3+ years AWS development
4+ years strong SQL across Oracle (Snowflake a plus)
Experience with large-scale ETL/data transformation pipelines
Strong analytical/problem-solving mindset for ambiguous data challenges

Nice-to-Haves

Python
Snowflake
Financial services domain experience
Unix shell scripting, orchestration tools, data modeling
DevOps, Agile, containerization exposure

Engagement Details

Location: Smithfield, RI (local candidates preferred, relocation open)

Duration: 12 months (likely extension up to 2+ years)

Work Model: Hybrid — onsite every other week (5 days/week during onsite)

Rate: Up to $65/hr on W2

Pre-interview technical assessment required before submission

Background check, credit check & drug screening part of onboarding
