SDET with strong Kafka concepts

Pittsburgh, PA/Dallas, TX/Cleveland, OH/Birmingham, AL

Hybrid 3 days onsite, 2 days remote

Only open for US Citizens and Green Card holders

The client is looking for a strong hands-on QA/Test Engineer who specializes in Kafka-based data pipelines and API testing. The ideal candidate must not only understand testing concepts but must deeply understand how data flows through Kafka and how APIs interact with upstream/downstream systems.

Roles & Responsibilities

Strong understanding of Kafka concepts: topics, partitions, producers, consumers, security
Hands-on experience with Oracle, MongoDB, and SQL
Message testing using JSON, Avro, Kafka
Kafka client configuration and issue troubleshooting
Data validation, serialization/deserialization verification
Design, develop, and execute test plans for Kafka data processing
API testing using Postman and Swagger
Validate responses, performance, error handling, and status codes
Perform manual and automated API testing
CI/CD and automated testing experience
Tools: Git, Jira, X-ray, Confluence
