The Opportunity

As Full Stack Software Engineer II, you will contribute to the development and support of software applications and platforms that help people build a more confident future. How You’ll Help Us Build a Confident Future (Key Responsibilities)

Support the design, development, testing, and deployment of full stack software applications (UI, API, Data) while leveraging AI tools.
Participate in peer reviews of code, solution designs, and configurations.
Assist in gathering and refining product requirements and user stories.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify innovative solutions.
Contribute to the integration of AI capabilities into applications (e.g., GenAI APIs, ML models).
Coach and mentor junior developers on software development and best practices.

What You Will Need To Succeed (Required Qualifications)

A bachelor's degree with exposure to technology, software development, AI/ML, or other technical areas.
2+ years of experience in software development, AI/ML, or other technical areas.
Internship or project experience in software development or AI/ML.
Experience in at least one programming language (e.g., Java, Python, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, or any other modern language).
Experience in design patterns and best practices in at least one programming language.

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and apply new skills to deliver high quality software as evidenced by project experience
Basic understanding of distributed and cloud applications
Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Strong academic record or demonstrated extracurricular success (research, projects) in any field

Candidate must be currently authorized to work in the United States and must not require MetLife sponsorship or support for an immigration-related employment benefit (e.g., work permit or temporary work visa) in any capacity now or in the future

Location Expectation: This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office.

The expected salary range for this position is 79,675 - 112,500. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
