Job Specifications
Bioinformatics Scientist – Multi-omics
Location: Central London, UK
We are working with a well-funded, highly innovative AI-driven biotechnology organisation operating at the intersection of computational science and human biology. The team generates its own proprietary data, develops general-purpose biological foundation models, and translates scientific discovery into meaningful research and clinical outcomes. The organisation’s first mission is to tackle the brain - to achieve a deep mechanistic understanding, protect it from neurological disease, and enhance it in health. Its growing, interdisciplinary team of AI researchers, experimental scientists, clinicians, and operators is distributed across London, San Francisco, and Dubai.
They are now seeking a Bioinformatics Scientist (Multi-omics) to further strengthen their research capabilities. This role offers the opportunity to join a world-class team addressing complex, high-impact scientific challenges through large-scale biological data and advanced computational approaches.
The Role
The successful candidate will play a key role in the analysis and interpretation of multi-omic and multi-modal datasets, contributing directly to hypothesis generation, model development, and biological discovery. Responsibilities include:
Designing and evaluating experimental hypotheses using large-scale multi-omic data
Identifying, curating, and analysing public and proprietary datasets across genomics, transcriptomics, epigenomics, proteomics, and related modalities
Developing, optimising, and maintaining robust bioinformatics pipelines and quality-control frameworks
Preparing and engineering features for downstream machine learning and AI models
Collaborating closely with experimental scientists and machine learning researchers to validate findings
Supporting and managing external research collaborations with academic and industry partners
Requirements
We are looking to speak with candidates who bring strong biological intuition alongside advanced computational expertise. Ideal candidates will have:
Demonstrated experience analysing multi-omic datasets in a research or applied setting
Strong programming skills (e.g. Python, R) and experience building reproducible bioinformatics workflows
Familiarity with cloud computing environments and large-scale data processing
A collaborative, cross-functional working style and the ability to clearly communicate complex results
A strong academic or industrial research background, with evidence of high-quality scientific output
Location
This role is based in Central London, UK with on-site collaboration expected.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
This position offers the chance to work within a mission-driven organisation at the forefront of AI-enabled biology, contributing directly to research with the potential to reshape disease understanding and therapeutic discovery. The environment is intellectually rigorous, fast-paced, and designed for individuals who want to have a tangible scientific impact. The company offers a competitive salary, potential equity package and other company benefits.
