Freelance GenAI / Agentic AI Engineer – Brussels (Hybrid)

Montash are currrently partnering with a leading consultancy based in Brussels to seek an experienced Freelance GenAI Engineer to help shape autonomous AI agents, building multi-agent orchestration systems, and integrating GenAI capabilities directly into enterprise workflows.
What You’ll Do
Responsibilities
Design, prototype, and deploy GenAI-powered systems that leverage LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and agentic reasoning frameworks.
Build intelligent AI agents that can plan, reason, and act autonomously to support business processes.
Engineer and optimize prompts, applying advanced techniques (ReAct, Chain-of-Thought, RAG pipelines, tool-using agents, etc.).
Develop evaluation and observability frameworks to continuously monitor performance, bias, and reliability of AI systems.
Collaborate cross-functionally with cloud, data, and ML teams to integrate AI solutions across AWS, Azure, or GCP environments.
Lead proofs of concept (POCs) and innovation sprints around autonomous agents, AI orchestration, and model fine-tuning.
What You Bring
Proven experience (3+ years) in AI / ML engineering, with recent focus on Generative AI or Agentic AI systems.
Deep knowledge of LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Mistral, etc.), vector databases, prompt engineering, and model evaluation.
Hands-on experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, CrewAI, AutoGen, or similar agent frameworks.
Familiarity with MLOps, cloud deployment (AWS preferred), and API integration for enterprise AI.
Excellent communication skills: able to translate complex AI concepts into business impact.
PhD/Masters degree in a relevant course
