Company Description

We are a start-up and looking for a expert software engineer who is proficient in real time / distributed systems and computer science fundamentals. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is technically strong and want to participate exceptionally and excited to sit alongside founders.

Location

Start-up is based in UK however the role is remote so you can be anywhere in the world. Our key criteria is that you are technical and cultural fit for the organization.

Role Description

We are building a real-time system. This is not a chatbot or a CRM integration project. This is a real-time, concurrent, low-latency system involving telephony, speech, and state machines. The product logic and workflows are already designed. We are looking for an exceptional software engineer to implement the system cleanly, correctly, and production-ready.

Key Responsibilities

- Implement a stateless, event-driven backend

- Design and implement conversation orchestration logic

- Integrate telephony, STT, LLM, and TTS services

- Build robust fallback and escalation paths

- Instrument the system with key metrics

- Deliver a clean, documented MVP

Required Experience (Non-Negotiable)

- Concurrent / asynchronous systems

- Distributed state management

- Real-time or near-real-time systems

- Designing systems that fail gracefully

This role is not suitable for:

- Junior or mid-level engineers

- Prompt-only or “no-code” AI builders

- UI-focused developers

Engagement Model

- Fixed-price project with clearly defined milestones

- MVP scope initially

- Strong performers may be offered (Follow-on work, Long-term technical ownership)

Selection Process

- Step-1: First technical interview

- Step-2: Design task

- Steo-3: Second technical interview (related to design task)

- Steo-4: Onboarding of successful candidate
