Job Title: Annotation Quality Editor (Remote)

Employment Type: Remote, part-time independent contractor

Location: Remote within United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Ireland, Australia & New Zealand (You must be legally authorised to work in the country where you are based)

Compensation: $35 - $45 per hour based on location, experience, responsibilities, and performance.

Role Overview: We are hiring on behalf of one of our clients, a leading global player in the AI space. This remote, part-time contract role serves as a quality assurance layer in the AI training process. You will act as a meticulous reviewer, examining sets of data (prompts and responses) that have been annotated or generated to ensure they meet strict style, safety, and accuracy guidelines. Your goal is to elevate the "ground truth" data by correcting errors and standardizing formatting before it reaches the model.

Key Responsibilities:

Review and edit large volumes of annotated text data for grammatical correctness, spelling, and adherence to specific style guides.
Verify that AI-generated responses (and human edits to them) accurately follow complex project instructions and constraints.
Fix formatting issues, inconsistent tone, or ambiguous phrasing that could confuse the AI model during training.
Rate and rank different AI responses based on specific criteria (e.g., helpfulness, honesty, harmlessness) to provide high-quality feedback signals.
Collaborate with project leads to update guidelines when consistent errors or gray areas are discovered in the annotation process.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in professional editing, copy editing, proofreading, or quality assurance (QA).
Superior command of English grammar, syntax, and punctuation with an "eagle eye" for catching errors that others miss.
Ability to strictly adhere to complex, evolving guidelines and style manuals without deviating.
Patience and focus required for reviewing detailed, often repetitive text data while maintaining high accuracy.
Comfortable working independently in a remote environment, managing time across multiple projects.

Compensation and Benefits:

Rate: Earn up to $45 USD/hr (Rates vary based on project complexity and expertise).
Flexibility: 100% remote with no fixed schedule. Contributors typically spend 5–10 hours per week, with the option to work up to 40 hours.
