The Role

Our team is looking for a Platform Engineer (12 month contract) to join our operations team and help shape Kobo’s platform ecosystem. At Kobo, we develop software across a rich set of domains, including hardware devices, eCommerce, content rendering, and data & intelligence. This diversity requires robust processes and patterns to enable our development teams to build great products quickly.

What You Get To Do

Play a key role in the re-platforming of our development infrastructure from SCM, to Ci/Cd pipelines, Kubernetes clusters, and observability tooling.
Help design and build the interfaces through which the development teams interface with the infrastructure
Keep current with emerging development patterns, ways of working, and evolution of the platforms they own
Maintain 24/7 availability for responsible systems and participate in paid on-call rotation

Who You Are

7+ years of experience building and maintaining high-quality software
7+ years of building development infrastructure on cloud platforms
Experience building software systems at scale and heading transformation projects
Experience with Github Actions, ArgoCd, Helm, Kubernetes & DataDog
Great communication skills both with technical engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
Great at mentoring others, being an evangelist for best practices
Deep understanding of various architectural patterns and the tradeoffs therein
