Job Specifications

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer & Architect (TypeScript) to architect, develop, and maintain our core internal applications. This role comes with a high level of ownership and direct impact on our public API, internal services, and operational tools. You will play a key role in stabilizing our systems, improving our API design, and shaping the architecture of our backend services as we evolve and scale.

Your Mission:

Architect, design, and maintain backend services powering key Hex-Rays applications.
Lead the ongoing improvement of our public API and internal tooling ecosystem.
Stabilize, refactor, and optimize existing systems for performance, reliability, and clarity.
Own backend projects from design to production deployment.
Work closely with the team to deliver efficient, smart, business-aware solutions.

What You'll Work On:

You will build and evolve several internal and external-facing applications, including:

Our public API powering the Hex-Rays customer portal
Our license manager
Our webshop
Various internal tools and automation workflows

Stack You'll Use:

Node.js (TypeScript)
Express
PostgreSQL
Kubernetes on AWS
Vercel

Required Skills & Experience:

Deep expertise in TypeScript and modern backend development
Strong experience in API architecture & design
Proven ability to own and drive backend services end-to-end
Strong SQL fundamentals (PostgreSQL)
Experience building scalable, reliable systems

Must-Have Modern Skills:

Demonstrated experience with LLM-assisted coding

Nice to Have

Kubernetes experience
CI/CD and DevOps exposure
Security, observability, and system design knowledge
Optional: Frontend experience in TypeScript frameworks
Experience with distributed systems or high-availability environments
