A specialist cloud and solutions engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Software Developer in Test to join on a contract basis as a hands-on quality engineering consultant.

You will work on modernising automated testing strategies for Java and React applications, helping teams move away from slow, brittle end-to-end testing towards effective integration, functional, and contract testing. The role involves close collaboration with developers and platform engineers, acting as a quality authority within delivery teams and introducing AI-assisted testing approaches to improve coverage and efficiency.

Key Requirements

Strong experience testing Java and React applications
Deep knowledge of automated UI testing
Experience designing test strategy and test architecture
Hands-on experience with Playwright
Knowledge of BDD and strong collaboration with developers
Experience with contract testing (e.g. Pact)
Comfortable modernising legacy test approaches
Confident working in client-facing environments
