Introduction

We are looking for a freelance Data Engineer to support the refactoring of a legacy application and the migration of its data towards a modern architecture. You will focus on data quality, transformation, and migration reliability.

Tasks

Analyse existing data models and data flows
Assess data quality and identify inconsistencies
Design and support data migration and transformation processes
Validate target database schemas and migrated data
Define data quality checks and support testing activities
Collaborate with development and analysis teams
Document data rules, transformations, and decisions

Requirements

Strong experience with relational databases (DB2, PostgreSQL, MySQL)
Proven experience in data migration projects
Solid knowledge of relational data modelling
Experience with ETL/ELT tools and data transformation scripting (SQL, Python)
Familiarity with Java environments and version control (Git)
Understanding of data security and compliance principles
Autonomous, detail-oriented, and strong communicator
Fluent in French & English

Extra

Full-time
Location: Brussels
Hybrid remote policy (2days in the office - 3 days remote)
Freelance contract: 6 months (+extension)
