Our client is a multi-VC-backed startup building the operating system for high-performance living across travel, dining, experiences, goods & gifting, and longevity. They are hiring a Founding Backend Engineer to join their team in New York.

The company has raised $4M+ from tier-1 investors, is growing revenue 30%+ MoM, and has built a proactive, prompt-less product described as “magic” by paying customers.

Role: Founding Engineer (Backend)

Own backend systems end-to-end, from architecture to production
Build scalable services and APIs in Python/Django
Lead agent orchestration, LLM integrations, and data pipelines
Design and operate cloud infrastructure on GCP
Work directly with founders and shape long-term technical direction

Essential Skills:

5+ years building production backend systems
Expert Django and strong Python experience
Distributed systems, SQL performance, and cloud-native architecture
High-ownership, product-minded engineer comfortable in early-stage environments

Nice to Have:

Experience with LLMs, agentic systems, or ML tooling
Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
Security/compliance exposure

Comp:

$325k OTE ($275k base + $50k uncapped bonus)
Founding-level equity at ground-floor valuation
