DESCRIPTION:
At Thermo Fisher Scientific, we're seeking a Senior Director of Supply Chain to lead the S&OP process (Sales & Operations Planning ) fully utilizing ERP Systems like SAP combined with advanced Spreadsheet tools, with a view to further advance digital transformation and operational excellence across our supply chain network. In this key role, you'll lead end-to-end supply chain strategy and execution, working closely with cross-functional teams to optimize performance and enhance customer satisfaction. You'll lead innovative initiatives in demand planning, inventory optimization, and digital technology adoption while fostering strong partnerships across divisions and functions.
As a member of the leadership team, you'll oversee the S&OP process, guide continuous improvement, and develop robust strategies to enhance product availability and operational efficiency. Your strategic approach will help shape the future of our supply chain operations, implementing advanced technologies and best practices while developing and mentoring teams across multiple locations. This is a full end to end Supply Chain role from Demand Planning, Sourcing, Supply Planning, Transportation and Distribution across 13+ sites. The role has direct responsibility for 120 headcount and indirect responsibility for the whole distribution network across MBD with multiple distribution hubs in the US (approx. 240 FTE). You operate within a complex planning environment where you supply to multiple factories. You are shaping the sourcing and distribution strategy and volume allocation across the whole MBD network.
This role is also a succession role to the VP, Operations and a critical role in the cross functional leadership team of the division.
REQUIREMENTS:
Advanced Degree with around 8 years of experience in supply chain management, with at least 7 years in leadership roles
Preferred Fields of Study: Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred
Success implementing digital supply chain technologies and guiding enterprise-scale transformation
Deep expertise in end-to-end supply chain processes including demand/supply planning, procurement, and logistics
Strong experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and advanced analytics tools
Proven track record of leading SIOP processes and digital transformation initiatives
Leadership abilities with experience managing inclusive, distributed teams
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong business acumen
Effective communication and stakeholder management capabilities
Proven ability to implement change management and process improvement initiatives
Strong project management skills with record of successful program delivery
Experience with AI and advanced supply chain technologies
Up to 25% including international travel as required
Compensation And Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Kansas is $175,100.00–$262,700.00.
