Position Title: Sr. Software Developer - Full Stack - Senior

Location: Toronto, ON (Onsite)

Mode: Contract

Role Summary

The Senior Full Stack Software Developer will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance, support, and minor enhancement of the CERES application. The role focuses on ensuring continuous system availability, resolving production issues, implementing bug fixes, and performing technical upgrades based on user feedback.

Key Responsibilities

Provide maintenance and operational support to ensure the CERES application remains continuously available
Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve application defects and production issues
Implement approved bug fixes and minor functional enhancements
Identify, plan, and execute technical upgrades to maintain the currency of the MERN technology stack
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including build and deployment guides
Support Agile delivery practices and collaborate with cross-functional technical teams
Ensure application compliance with accessibility standards (AODA) and IT security best practices

Mandatory Skills and Experience

Minimum 7 years of full-stack development experience using the MERN technology stack (MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js)
Minimum 4 years of experience developing and maintaining build and deployment documentation (build books)
Strong technical documentation and knowledge transfer skills
Demonstrated experience designing and delivering solutions compliant with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA)
Experience working in an Agile software development environment
Knowledge of IT security standards and authentication protocols such as OAuth 2.0 and SAML

Desirable Skills and Experience

Experience building and deploying cloud-native solutions, preferably on Microsoft Azure
Experience with agricultural or environmental data collection and analysis systems
Familiarity with Government of Ontario Information and Technology Standards (GO-ITS)
Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, source control, and tools such as Azure DevOps and Git

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
