Visual communication intern

We are recruiting a visual communication intern who is looking to develop their communication design or data visualization skills to join our communications team and support our data visualization and social media work.

Use your visual storytelling and design skills to help T&E’s research and analysis reach the right audiences, communicating about achieving zero emission transport and energy systems. In this role, you will work within the communications team, and work closely with our team of expert analysts and policy staff. You will be responsible for producing engaging visual content to accurately communicate key messages and narratives.

You will:

Develop and adapt visuals and digital content for social media and reports.
Create infographics to explain complex topics.
Have some experience with visual content creation (e.g. social media content and videos) and data visualization.
Provide design and technical support to the whole T&E team, instilling data journalism best practices that help guide them to create high impact graphics.

Must have:

Knowledge of design programs like Figma, Adobe Illustrator or Canva.
Experience editing videos with tools like Adobe Premiere.
An interest in telling stories with numbers and design.
Strong written communication skills with an ability to communicate with clarity, in the right tone.
A willingness to learn, be organized and curious.
Fluent in spoken and written English.
A basic understanding of what type of content works well on different social media platforms.

Nice to have:

An interest in climate and energy.
Knowledge of data visualization tools like Flourish.
Experience with Adobe After Effects.
Interest in appearing on camera for short-form video content.
Basic coding skills like HTML and CSS is a plus but not mandatory.

What do we offer ?

The position is full-time, with a year long contract running from early January 2026, although the dates are subject to discussion. The position is based in Brussels. The internship is paid according to the Belgian legal framework of “Convention d’Immersion Professionnelle”, remunerated at €1500 per month. T&E is an equal opportunities employer.
