About The Role

We are working on innovative electrical machines that are instrumental in the decarbonisation of transport, and you will be critical to that success. Our “Winding Centre of Excellence” funded by Innovate UK’s Driving the Electric Revolution – Industrialisation Centres, is a significant investment in electrical machine manufacturing, with the aim of developing manufacturing process and techniques, applying new materials and machine designs to reduce cost, improve efficiency and power density.
Flexible Working
We will consider applications for employment on a part-time or other flexible working basis (e.g. job share), despite the position being advertised as full-time.
About You
The Chief Engineer will be a recognised leader and expert in the design, manufacture, and application of advanced electrical machines. They will have deep understanding of the state of the art and future developments that will improve total cost, performance, and efficiency.
The Chief Engineer post is critical to the success of the Winding Centre of Excellence, and they will be able to guide its strategic direction and future. The Chief Engineer will develop new research and direct contract programmes and be integral to the advancement of the PEMD staff and facilities
