About SKADI
SKADI Cyber Defense Corporation is a Canadian cybersecurity startup building Frostbow, an autonomous security platform designed for defence and critical infrastructure environments.
We’re a small, committed team building something that matters. The work is complex and often challenging, but it’s also deeply collaborative and genuinely enjoyable. People here care about the craft, care about each other, and take pride in building things properly.
You’ll be trusted to do great work, encouraged to ask questions, and supported by teammates who want to build alongside you. We work hard, we laugh, and we take real satisfaction in watching something take shape because we built it together.
About the Role
This is a hands-on, in-person Cloud Infrastructure Engineer role based out of our Bracebridge, Ontario office.
You’ll be right in the middle of designing, building, securing, and operating SKADI’s cloud infrastructure while helping prepare our systems for government and defence security certifications. Because of the nature of our work and how closely we collaborate, regular in-office presence is essential.
This role suits someone who likes being close to the work, enjoys thinking things through with others, and wants to have a real hand in shaping both the technology and the company as it grows.
What You’ll Actually Do
You’ll own our cloud platform and work side by side with a small, motivated team.
Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure that meets Canadian data residency requirements
Prepare infrastructure, controls, and documentation for government security certifications
Support integrations with operational technology and critical infrastructure environments
Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code and deployment pipelines
Operate production systems, including monitoring, incident response, and capacity planning
You’ll have room to bring ideas forward, try things, and improve how we work, not just follow a checklist.
What We’re Looking For
Must Have
Experience with a major cloud platform such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
Strong Linux systems administration skills
Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or Ansible
Scripting experience in Python, Bash, or similar
Ability to work full-time, in person, from our Bracebridge office
Located in Northern Ontario or willing to relocate at your own expense
Canadian citizen or permanent resident and eligible for Canadian security clearance
Due to security clearance requirements, we can only consider Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
Nice to Have
Experience with security compliance or certification frameworks
Containerization and orchestration experience with Docker or Kubernetes
Networking, firewall, or secure architecture experience
Exposure to industrial control systems or OT environments
How We Work
This is an in-office role. While there is occasional flexibility, this is not a remote or hybrid-first position.
We work with a high level of trust. People here collaborate closely, share context openly, and step in to help each other without being asked. Curiosity is welcomed. Initiative is noticed. Good work is appreciated.
You won’t be micromanaged, but you will be expected to care deeply about what you’re building and how it shows up in the world.
Why This Role
You’ll gain hands-on experience with government and defence security certification processes - high demand skills with strong career trajectory.
More than that, you’ll be part of a small, ambitious team building something meaningful from the ground up. If you enjoy working closely with others, solving real problems, and growing alongside the company you’re helping to shape, this will feel like a very good place to land.
SKADI Cyber Defense Corporation is committed to employment equity and encourages applications from all qualified individuals regardless of race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, sex, age, mental or physical disability, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
About the Company
SKADI builds autonomous cybersecurity systems that understand threats rather than just detect patterns. Our platform, Frostbow, uses hierarchical neural ontology to learn security concepts directly from network behavior. Instead of relying on predefined rules and signature matching, Frostbow observes your environment and autonomously forms an understanding of what constitutes normal operations, suspicious activity, and genuine threats. The result: 99.6% of alerts are investigated and closed without human intervention—not thr...
