About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer at Hinge Health, you will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining large-scale software solutions that directly impact our members' health outcomes. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners, including product managers and designers, to deliver new product capabilities and improve the maintainability, availability, and performance of our features. This role is essential to advancing our mission of transforming joint and muscle care through technology, including the integration of AI-driven solutions to automate and enhance care delivery. Hinge Health software engineers work on small interdisciplinary teams focused on different parts of the user journey.
The ET Experience pod is responsible for replatforming and modularizing the Front End experience that powers Hinge Health's enterprise tooling. As a Senior Software Engineer on this team, you'll contribute to building a scalable architecture that supports multiple care programs and enables rich customization by physical therapists and enterprise users. This work sits at the heart of Hinge Health's acute care unification initiative and has broad impact across the platform. You'll collaborate closely with Back End teams to ensure seamless end-to-end experiences and effective data flows. This role is ideal for someone who is excited to solve complex Front End problems, influence architecture, and deliver intuitive, high-quality user interfaces at scale.

Our production systems rely on React Native, React, Node.js, TypeScript, Nestjs, GraphQL, Docker, AWS, Postgres, Redis, Apollo, and Redux. Deliver large projects that introduce new product capabilities, often acting as a maintainer for key code repositories.
Break down complex problems into manageable tasks, ensuring steady and predictable delivery while identifying and resolving root causes of incidents.
Collaborate with your team to roadmap and execute ambitious technical strategies, balancing short-term and long-term trade-offs.
Mentor and support junior engineers, providing thoughtful code reviews and Real Time pairing.
Integrate and leverage AI technologies to automate processes and enhance product features, contributing to Hinge Health's AI-driven care platform.
Proactively improve the maintainability, availability, and performance of the team's features, and contribute to the team's overall architecture and developer tooling.
Communicate technical ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical partners, and document solutions for future reference. Hinge Health Hybrid Model

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field
Experience with React Native mobile development
5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
3+ years of experience with React/TypeScript
Experience delivering large software projects or features in a production environment Preferred Qualifications
Experience with AI technologies for software design and coding assistance
Experience with observability tools such as Datadog (performance monitoring) and Sentry (error tracking)
Familiarity with distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, or scalable architectures
Experience with healthcare technology or regulated environments Compensation
This position will have an annual salary, plus equity and benefits. Please note the annual salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.
