Role Summary
We are seeking a Software Developer to lead the evolution of Oracle’s Consumer Industries core SaaS services. As a Software Developer you will help build new cloud-based SaaS applications. You will enjoy writing code and be passionate and curious about the opportunities each day brings. You will have experience of coding backend Java and/or frontend JavaScript applications that are based on cloud-based micro-services architectures.
Responsibilities
Design and development of Consumer Industries cloud applications.
Be proud of the code you write.
Focus on quality and automated unit test cases.
Be a technical lead and direct complex projects.
Understand the business needs of a solution and translate use cases into outcomes.
Collaborate to maintain high levels of coding standards and code maintainability. Participate in code reviews to ensure compliance and security.
Actively participate continual technical improvement initiatives.
Keenly focus on non-functional solution requirements such as scalability, performance, security and diagnostics.
Be enthusiastic, eager to share what you know, eager to learn new things and strive to overcome challenges in a positive, collaborative manner.
Experience and Knowledge
BS or MS in Computer Science or a related technical field.
A track record of 8+ years building Java and/or JavaScript based software applications at scale.
Expertise (senior level) in one or both of:
Backend Java software development using associated modern development tools, libraries, data access and technologies.
Interactive and dynamic frontend Web UI development using HTML, CSS and JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks such as React, Angular or Vue.
Extensive experience of developing and consuming RESTful JSON based Web APIs.
Experience using cloud technologies and platforms such as Kubernetes.
Strong understanding of software management concepts and tools such as Jira, Git and Maven.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve code issues.
Proficient English oral and written communication skills.
Bonus: Working experience of Oracle Databases and schema design.
Bonus: Knowledge of DevOps automation and tools such as GitLab, Helm and Terraform.
Responsibilities
As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
