Front End Engineer - Consultant/Lead Consultant

Permanent | Hybrid | UK Locations

A leading IT consultancy is looking to hire an experienced Senior Front End Engineer to work on large-scale digital platforms and user-facing services. You’ll be joining collaborative, agile teams delivering accessible, secure and high-performing web applications.

This is a great opportunity to work on meaningful projects using modern front-end technologies while influencing UI standards and best practices.

Locations: Manchester, Telford, Worthing, Leeds, Bristol & London
Hybrid working – 2 days onsite per week
Salary
£55,000 – £80,000 per annum
Candidates must be eligible for SC Clearance

The Role

As a Senior Front End Engineer, you’ll be responsible for designing and building rich, user-focused web applications. You’ll work closely with back-end engineers, designers and product teams to deliver accessible, secure and scalable front-end solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop responsive, high-quality user interfaces
Build rich web applications using React and/or Angular
Collaborate with back-end teams to integrate with RESTful APIs
Ensure applications meet accessibility and usability standards
Apply best practices around performance, security and code quality
Contribute to UI architecture, reusable components and design systems
Work collaboratively using Git-based version control

Skills & Experience Required

Strong experience building front-end applications with React and/or Angular
Excellent knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and TypeScript
Experience integrating front-end applications with REST APIs
Good understanding of web security principles, including OAuth2.0 and JWT
Proven experience designing accessible and user-friendly UIs
Familiarity with Node.js, NPM and modern front-end tooling
Comfortable working in agile, multi-disciplinary teams

Desirable Experience

Experience contributing to design systems or component libraries
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines for front-end applications
Performance optimisation and cross-browser compatibility
Mentoring junior developers or providing technical guidance
