FIREWALL & NETWORK SECURITY SPECIALIST

Our Toronto based client is seeking a Firewall & Network Security Specialist to join their team to assist in design, configuration and maintenance of Network Security Infrastructure.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Administer and manage the next generation firewalls.
Assist in reviewing and Implementing firewall requests from cross functional team.
Assist in managing day-to-day operations related to firewall governance and orchestration solutions and contribute to its maturity improvement.
Audit and maintain documentation of current Firewall policies and perform rule clean up and optimization activities periodically.
Participate in day-to-day troubleshooting and provide RCA for major incidents.
Participate in real-time network security event monitoring and response Implement changes on Firewalls following established change management process.
Provide support for Incident Response (IR) investigations when analysis confirms an actionable incident.
Identify actionable indicators of compromise through analysis of network forensic data.
Research and analyze events to determine classification, correlation, and root cause of problems.

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

5 years of experience in Cyber Security.
Extensive knowledge and expertise with the following technologies:

o Next Gen Firewalls - required

o Firewall Governance and Orchestration - required

o Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS) - strongly preferred

o DNS Firewalls - nice to have

o Web Application Firewalls (WAF) - nice to have

o Security Incident and Event Management Systems (SIEM) - nice to have

*Relevant industry certifications (CISSP, GCIH, OCSP, CCNP, CCIE-Security) and major vendor security certifications preferred.

Hourly rate: $65-$70/hour for an Incorporated Consultant (based on 37.5 hours/week)

1 year contract (with high possibility for extension)

Hybrid work model (3 days / week in office)
