Job Title: Java Developer

Location: London, UK (Hybrid 3 times a week)

Employment Type: Contract B2B

Job Description:

We are seeking a Java Backend / Microservices Engineer to design and build scalable, resilient backend systems in a fast-paced enterprise environment. This role requires strong Java fundamentals, real-world microservices experience, and the discipline to write testable, maintainable code.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop RESTful microservices using Core Java and Spring Boot
Build and maintain event-driven architectures using Kafka or equivalent messaging platforms
Apply GoF and Microservices design patterns to ensure scalability and reliability
Implement Test Driven Development (TDD) and enforce code quality standards
Work with MongoDB for data modelling and persistence
Collaborate with DevOps teams using CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools
Actively participate in Agile SAFe ceremonies and delivery planning

Required Skills & Experience:

Strong proficiency in Core Java
Hands-on expertise in Spring Boot
Proven experience building RESTful Microservices
Experience with Kafka or similar messaging systems
Solid understanding of design patterns
Working knowledge of DevOps tools and practices
Experience with MongoDB
Strong commitment to TDD
