Business Analyst – Compliance / Financial Crime

London / Remote (2 days per week in the office)

2 month contract initially

£550-600/day via an approved Umbrella

We’re supporting a leading insurance client with the appointment of an experienced contract Business Analyst to work on a compliance-themed assignment.

This role will focus on analysis across a compliance screening platform, with particular emphasis on data quality, inactive records, and record lifecycle management, working closely with Compliance, Risk, and Technology stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Work with Compliance teams to analyse current-state processes, controls, and data usage within a screening environment
Assess inactive or legacy records, including data retention, remediation, and deletion considerations
Define clear business and functional requirements aligned to regulatory expectations
Support impact assessments, data remediation strategies, and change recommendations
Liaise with technology teams to translate compliance requirements into actionable deliverables
Produce high-quality documentation (process maps, requirements, analysis packs)

Experience Required

Proven experience as a Business Analyst within compliance, financial crime, or regulatory change
Strong background working directly with Compliance, Risk, or Financial Crime teams
Experience analysing screening systems, sanctions/AML data, or compliance platforms
Solid understanding of data quality, retention, remediation, and governance concepts
Comfortable operating in regulated environments
Excellent stakeholder engagement skills

Nice to Have

Experience with sanctions / AML screening platforms (e.g. FinScan or equivalent)
London Market insurance or broader insurance sector experience
Exposure to regulatory remediation or audit-driven change initiatives
