Location: Halle, Belgium (Hybrid – 2–3 days onsite)

Contract: 6 months to 1 year (extension likely)

About the role

Our client is a large, well-established organisation operating complex store and logistics environments across Belgium. They are currently scaling up a major digital initiative and rolling out new applications across multiple locations.

To support this growth, they are urgently looking for a Software Engineer to join their development teams and contribute to modern, business-critical applications used daily in stores and logistics centers.

This is a great opportunity to work on high-impact projects, using modern technologies, within a structured yet dynamic Agile environment.

Your responsibilities

As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:

Developing and maintaining web applications linked to store and logistics IT architecture
Working with modern front-end technologies such as Angular (v20+), JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS/SCSS
Building, testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and optimizing applications to ensure optimal user experience
Integrating applications with other platforms and internal software systems
Collaborating with backend technologies such as NodeJS, Java, and Python
Investigating incidents, performing root cause analysis, proposing solutions, and following up on fixes
Working closely with developers, UX specialists, and business stakeholders in an Agile/SCRUM setup

Your profile

Technical background:

Strong knowledge of Angular, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS/SCSS (including CSS animations)
2–3 years of experience is sufficient; more senior profiles are also welcome
Experience with Git and GitLab
Basic knowledge of Docker, WebSockets, and OpenShift
UX experience is a plus
Comfortable integrating front-end solutions with other software systems

Hands-on and proactive, with a strong sense of initiative
Team player who enjoys working in collaborative project teams
Strong analytical skills with the ability to keep an overview
Solution-oriented mindset, focused on delivering value
Familiar with Agile and SCRUM ways of working
