Security Architect - Public Sector - Contract - SC & NPPV3 Clearance Required

We’re currently looking for a strong, seasoned, Security Architect contractor for a client of ours in the Public Sector as they look to expand and transform their Security and Architectural practices.

The incoming contractor will work in an embedded team to drive Security best practices that are being implemented across the broader business, as part of a new and improved programme being rolled out across their technology department.

Key Responsibilities include:

Lead the design and review of secure architecture across major change programmes.
Define and implement SDLC security standards and best practices.
Develop and enforce API security standards and secure integration models.
Conduct threat modelling and risk assessments for new technology initiatives.
Support DevSecOps practices and secure CI/CD pipelines.
Collaborate with engineering, architecture, and compliance teams to embed security from inception.

Skills & Experience:

Proven experience (5+ years) as a Security Architect in the Public Sector.
Strong understanding of secure software development, cloud security (AWS), and API security.
Experience with DevSecOps and modern CI/CD practices.
Knowledge of frameworks such as GDPR, NYDFS, and other global data protection regulations.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Relevant certifications (e.g. CISSP, SABSA, TOGAF, AWS/Azure Security) are highly desirable.

This position will be remote first (must be UK based), with occasional monthly visits for team days, and can offer £700-800 p/day inside IR35 for an initial 6 month contract.
