Title: Security Architect
Duration: 12 months (possible 1-2-year extension)
Location: Toronto, ON- Hybrid (4 day's on site-- Flexible with 3 day's on site)
Compensation: $80-90/hour
Start Date: ASAP
Interview Process: 1-2 rounds (first round virtual, second round could be in-person)
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Define and support architecture roadmaps, transition architectures, and solution documentation.
Design and implement security architecture solutions based on best practices and regulatory standards.
Guide alignment of security initiatives with business and IT objectives.
Participate in architecture decisions across infrastructure, applications, and business domains.
Maintain architecture methodology, including definition of deliverables, processes, and stakeholder roles.
Provide technical leadership across multiple security domains.
Promote adherence to architectural standards, principles, and governance practices.
Must-Haves:
Undergraduate degree or college diploma in a relevant field.
10+ years of experience as a Security Architect.
Strong experience in cybersecurity strategy, implementation, and monitoring.
Broad technical experience across access management, cloud security, and risk management.
Experience with security frameworks (e.g., NIST CSF).
Experience working with AWS and Azure (used for Entra ID and Sentinel).
Proficiency with core tools: Palo Alto SASE, Prisma Cloud, CyberArk PSM, XSOAR.
Relevant certifications such as: CISSP, CISA, CISM, CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional), SABSA (Security Architecture)
AI Experience is a huge plus.
This is a strategic and hands-on role, ideal for a senior architect with deep cloud and security tooling experience.
Regulatory compliance knowledge (e.g., ISO, SOC2, PCI), NIST CSF
Pluses:
Experience in large consulting organizations.
Familiarity with Zero Trust, DLP, SOAR, IAM, CASB (used but not required).
Exposure to enterprise environments, though no specific platform experience is required (e.g., SAP, Salesforce, etc. not needed).
