AI Engineer | YC-Backed InsurTech | Founding Team | £90K-£165K + Equity

I'm working with an exceptional YC-backed InsurTech in London that's gone from £0 to multi-million ARR in just 12 months and is looking for AI Engineers to join their founding engineering team.

Despite being early-stage, they're already punching well above their weight – with major UK insurers onboarded and serious production systems live at scale. This is a rare opportunity to get in at the ground floor of something special.

What you'll be doing:

Building AI agents and LLM-powered workflows that process real insurance claims
Working directly with founders and insurance specialists to solve complex automation challenges
Taking real ownership over AI architecture and technical decisions
Shaping the AI/ML engineering culture from day one
Building systems that directly impact major enterprise customers

The tech:

Python
LLMs / LangChain
Next.js / Node.js
GCP
Production AI systems at scale

£90,000 - £165,000 base salary + meaningful equity

Based in London (30 remote days per year)

What they're looking for:

Builders who ship AI agents and workflows (not researchers)
Full-stack capability – comfortable across Python backend and frontend work
Either: experience at Series B/C/D AI companies (PolyAI, Wayve, Synthesia) wanting more ownership, OR early career at big tech with strong fundamentals
Someone who thrives in high-intensity, fast-paced environments
A builder who wants ownership, not just tickets to complete
