Job Specifications

Job Title: Lead Java Developer

Rate: £572 (Inside IR35)

Duration: 6 months

Location: Remote - One Day Onsite in Manchester per week

Clearance: BPSS

Stages: 1 Stage

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design and development of scalable Java-based Back End services
Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams
Design, build, and maintain microservices architectures on Microsoft Azure
Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and support complex system integrations
Ensure solutions meet DWP standards for security, performance, and reliability
Collaborate with architects, product owners, and delivery teams in an Agile environment
Conduct code reviews and promote best practices in software engineering

Required Skills & Experience

Proven experience as a Lead Java Developer or Senior Java Developer in large-scale environments
Hands-on experience with Java (Spring/Spring Boot preferred)
Strong experience working with Microsoft Azure
Solid background in Back End development
Experience designing and implementing API & system integrations
Strong understanding of microservices architecture
Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams
