Full-Stack Developer (Next.js / React) – Front Office Technology

London | Hybrid (3 days onsite preferred)

We are working on behalf of a global specialist investment manager to hire an experienced Full-Stack Developer into a newly created front-office technology role.

This position sits directly alongside investment teams and is suited to a highly hands-on engineer who wants to build complex, data-driven systems used daily by portfolio managers and traders.

Why this role?

The firm is delivering an ambitious, multi-year technology roadmap across its front-office platforms. Current initiatives include:

A high-volume trading and hedging platform handling complex market and instrument data
The evolution toward autonomous portfolio management, including AI-driven tooling and ESG initiatives

This hire will play a key role in building modern systems that directly support investment decision-making.

The role

This is a genuinely hands-on full-stack engineering role with ownership and influence. You will:

Build and evolve modern front-office applications (no legacy systems)
Contribute to architecture and technical design
Work closely with portfolio managers, traders, and researchers
Mentor and support other engineers
Challenge requirements constructively and guide solutions
Operate in a collaborative, delivery-focused engineering environment

Technology environment

A modern, cloud-first stack:

Frontend / Full Stack: React, Next.js
APIs & Data: GraphQL, WebSockets
Databases: SQL and Graph databases
Architecture: Risk-based microservices
State & Session: Jotai
Cloud: AWS

This role is Next.js / React focused and not Python-led.

What we’re looking for

Experience in a front-office environment (Fixed Income, Equities, Commodities, or other trading / investment teams)
Strong, demonstrable hands-on full-stack development skills
Solid understanding of architecture and data-intensive systems
Experience working with multiple databases and distributed systems
Confidence to engage with senior stakeholders and guide technical direction
A collaborative mindset and interest in mentoring others
Willingness to work onsite in London around 3 days per week
