About The Role

Design, train, and deploy search, ranking, and personalization systems for a shopping platform with 350K+ users, processing millions of items daily.

Join the ML team at Phia to design, train, and deploy the search, ranking, and personalization systems that power a fast-growing shopping platform with 350K+ users and 90% retention. You’ll work with large-scale data and build models that process hundreds of millions of items daily, collaborating with experienced engineers from companies like Pinterest and Amazon. Your work will have direct impact—users depend on search accuracy to trust and continue using the platform. This position is open to fully remote candidates.

Requirements

3+ years of professional experience building and deploying ML models in production
Hands-on experience with ranking, personalization, or recommendation systems
Backend integration experience with GraphQL, Prisma, Node.js, Python, and gRPC/Protobuf
Based in New York or remote in San Francisco
Comfortable with fast-paced startup work
Ideal candidates currently working in companies with search or recommendation services (e.g. DoorDash, Etsy, etc.)
