Data Analyst - Integrations, API
Location: London (Hybrid - minimum 2 days per week in the office)
The Role
We are seeking a technically proficient Data Analyst - Integrations to join our IT function within the Strategy & Architecture Team. This role has a strong emphasis on API design, system integrations and data architecture, and plays a critical role in enabling data-driven decision-making across the firm.
You will work closely with business stakeholders, developers, architects, project managers and external vendors to ensure accurate, scalable and secure data integrations across the technology landscape. You will also support the execution of the firm's approved Data Strategy, covering areas such as data classification, duplication, exception reporting, data quality, insights and reporting.
This role reports to the Global Head of Architecture and works in close partnership with the Global Engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
Analyse and interpret complex datasets to support IT operations and strategic initiatives
Design, document and maintain APIs to enable secure, efficient data exchange between systems
Define and maintain data schemas, structures, endpoints, request parameters and response formats
Create and maintain data dictionaries and business glossaries to ensure consistency across the enterprise
Influence and standardise data documentation practices across projects and teams
Document data models, tables, columns, business terms, lineage and transformations end-to-end
Implement metadata standards to improve data transparency and interoperability
Collaborate with developers, architects and analysts to define integration requirements and data flows
Support dashboards, reporting and analytics solutions used across the business
Ensure data quality, consistency and compliance with governance and security standards
Support automation initiatives by integrating APIs into system workflows
Maintain high-quality documentation for integrations and data structures across projects
Adhere to non-functional requirements, development standards, testing and deployment practices
Engage with vendors and third parties to assess integration feasibility, complexity and delivery estimates
Contribute to the selection and integration of enterprise SaaS platforms aligned with architectural standards
Skills & Experience
Proven experience as a Data Analyst within an IT or technical environment
Strong SQL skills and experience with Scripting languages such as Python or R
Hands-on experience designing and documenting RESTful APIs (Swagger/OpenAPI)
Experience using API testing tools such as Postman
Solid understanding of data modelling, ETL processes and system integrations
Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure and related data services
Knowledge of Microsoft data tools such as Power BI, Azure Foundry and Fabric
Strong understanding of application integrations and the API economy
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
