Location: Remote/occasional Manchester travel
Duration: 6 months
Day Rate: £550 per day (Inside IR35)
Clearance: Active SC Clearance required
Overview
We are seeking an experienced AWS DevOps Engineer (SFIA Level 4) to support the delivery of secure, cloud-native services within a high-profile programme. This role will focus on building, maintaining and improving AWS infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines and containerised platforms that support Node.js and TypeScript based microservices.
The successful candidate will work closely with development teams to enable reliable, automated and scalable deployments across AWS.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain AWS infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code best practices.
Support and operate cloud-native services using AWS (EC2, Lambda, S3, SQS, ECR, DocumentDB).
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
Support containerised workloads using Docker and Kubernetes.
Enable deployment and operation of Node.js and TypeScript applications.
Implement monitoring, logging and operational best practices across AWS environments.
Work closely with developers to improve build, release and deployment processes.
Ensure platforms are secure, reliable and aligned to DevOps and cloud best practice.
Essential Skills & Experience
Strong hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, Lambda, S3, SQS, ECR, DocumentDB).
Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
Solid experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
Understanding of Node.js and TypeScript application deployment.
Experience supporting cloud-native and microservices architectures.
Strong Linux, Git and automation skills.
Experience working in secure, controlled environments.
Additional Information
This role is remote-first with occasional travel to Manchester.
Active SC Clearance is mandatory - candidates without current SC clearance cannot be considered.
