Job Specifications

A Principal React Front End Engineer is required on a fully remote 12month FTC to provide technical leadership for customer-facing web platforms at a leading UK healthcare organisation. This role is ideal for a senior engineer who combines deep React expertise with architectural vision and the ability to influence teams at scale.
You will take ownership of Front End strategy across a modernising platform used daily by customers, shaping how React, TypeScript, and micro Front End architecture are applied as the organisation expands internationally and invests heavily in engineering excellence.
You will -
Set technical direction for large-scale React applications, ensuring long-term scalability and maintainability.
Act as a hands-on technical leader, mentoring engineers and raising Front End engineering standards.
Drive improvements in performance, resilience, accessibility, and developer experience across teams.
Partner closely with architects, product leaders, UX, and DevOps to align Front End strategy with business goals.
Influence best practices around testing, CI/CD, and modern JavaScript/TypeScript patterns.
Strong command of modern React patterns (hooks, state management, testing, and application architecture).
Experience designing scalable Front End platforms using TypeScript, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
A pragmatic, strategic mindset with the confidence to challenge, guide, and improve engineering outcomes.
