C# Developer – Contract - Energy & Commodities Trading

Location: Paris, France

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced C# Developer to join a high-performing engineering team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining distributed backend systems. The role focuses on building scalable, resilient microservices using modern .NET technologies, supporting business-critical platforms operating in a high-throughput, low-latency environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain C#/.NET backend services within a microservices architecture

Build and consume RESTful APIs to support internal and external integrations

Contribute to the design of distributed systems with a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architects, DevOps, and product stakeholders

Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and system optimisation efforts

Key Requirements:

Strong hands-on experience with C# and the .NET ecosystem

Proven experience designing and operating microservices-based systems

Solid background in building and maintaining backend services and APIs

Good understanding of distributed systems concepts (e.g. service communication, fault tolerance, observability)

Experience working with modern development practices such as CI/CD and automated testing

Nice to Have:

Experience within the energy trading or commodities domain

Exposure to real-time or near-real-time optimisation systems

Familiarity with event-driven architectures, messaging systems, or streaming platforms

Experience with Angular (1-2+ Years)
