Summary

Are you a big-picture problem solver who thrives on setting bold goals? Do you enjoy exploring how each line of code connects to the broader system? At Apple, we’re dedicated to crafting fully integrated operating systems that bring hardware, software, and apps together into a seamless experience.

Our team plays a meaningful role in delivering a high-quality, high-performance kernel that runs at the core of our Apple products. From watchOS on your wrist, to iOS in your pocket, macOS on your desk, and tvOS in your living room, on the devices owned by your friends and family; our software is everywhere. As part of the Darwin Kernel Technologies team within Apple’s Core Operating Systems group, you’ll help ensure the operating system is deeply integrated into each device’s identity, enabling Apple’s world-class user experience.

Description

We work on foundational kernel technology areas such as inter-process communication (IPC), process management, and system security that are essential for performance, reliability, and user privacy across all Apple platforms.

As an intern, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to core systems that scale across hundreds of millions of devices. You’ll collaborate with world-class engineers and gain hands-on experience working at the lowest levels of the OS stack, helping develop the future of Apple’s platforms.

Minimum Qualifications

Good understanding of operating systems fundamentals and computer architecture
Programming in C and optional familiarity with Assembly
Ability to debug low-level software issues
Currently attending a degree in either Computer Science or Computer Engineering or similar subject

Preferred Qualifications
