AWS Platform Engineer - London - Contract

A research-driven technology firm operating one of the most advanced compute platforms in Europe is strengthening its cloud platform team. The group owns the design, security, and evolution of a large-scale AWS environment that underpins critical internal engineering workloads.

This is a senior, hands-on platform role for engineers who have built and operated cloud foundations, not just consumed them.

Key responsibilities:

Own and evolve the organisation’s AWS landing zone and multi-account platform
Design and implement preventative security and governance controls across accounts
Define and manage identity, access, and organisational guardrails using AWS Organizations and IAM
Build and maintain infrastructure using Terraform and CloudFormation
Improve platform reliability, security, and operational standards
Enable internal teams to safely and efficiently consume the platform

What you’ll need:

Experience designing or owning an AWS landing zone or equivalent multi-account platform
Strong knowledge of AWS Organizations, SCPs, RCPs, delegated administration, and account governance
Practical experience with preventative security controls and data perimeter concepts
Strong IAM experience including cross-account access and condition-based policies
Advanced Terraform experience in shared, multi-account environments
