DevOps Engineer - SC Cleared - Remote

Remote (UK based only), 3 months initially, current, active SC clearance essential

A leading UK Government Department is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to support a high-impact programme focused on secure, scalable cloud infrastructure. This role is fully remote (UK based), and requires an engineer with strong hands-on experience across AWS, IaC, CI/CD, and modern automation tooling.

Core Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain secure cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code
Develop and optimise pipelines within GitLab CI/CD
Implement robust monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions
Support secure, scalable deployments across AWS environments
Collaborate with engineering and security teams to ensure best-practice cloud governance
Troubleshoot and optimise Unix/Linux systems and API integrations

Essential Skills

Strong experience with Terraform
Deep knowledge of AWS services and architecture
GitLab and CI/CD pipeline development
Monitoring, observability, and security best practices
Solid Unix/Linux engineering background
Experience working with and integrating APIs

Desired Skills

Python Scripting
Exposure to Big Data environments
Experience with Prometheus & Grafana
Bash Scripting
