THE OPPORTUNITY

Context of the mission – Department presentation – Team organization

As a Data Science Intern, you’ll work closely with full-timers and learn the ins and outs of Health, Safety and Environment and help protect people and the planet. You will collaborate with the Data Science Manager on real-world projects we actually need done. This internship will allow you to learn how machine learning techniques are applied to model and predict large datasets. Working with real-world data will allow you to gain an understanding of the differences between theory and practice. If you’ve never considered a career in building materials, you’re not alone. Many of us here have been in a similar position before coming on board. If you are curious by nature, love finding solutions to complex problems, and are willing to join a diverse and international team, we believe you’re a good match.

Missions

Design and implement data pipelines and data storage solutions
Ensure data quality and integrity by developing and implementing data validation and cleaning processes
Develop and deploy machine learning models - Develop and maintain data documentation- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data needs and develop solutions to meet those needs

DESIRED PROFILE

Educational level / Training

Enrolled in a Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field

Technical skills & professional experience:

Strong programming skills in Python
Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and techniques
Understanding of data modeling and database integration principles - Experience with data visualization- Experience with big data processing technologies such as Spark or Hadoop

Spoken languages:

Fluent in English
