Platform Engineer Job Description

We are looking for a Platform engineer that will streamline the software development lifecycle (SDLC) to improve developer productivity, delivery speed, and code quality. They will work closely with development, architects, operations and security teams to identify and improve process pain points and inefficiencies for delivery.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent applied experience.
2+ years of relevant DevOps experience.
2+ years of experience in software engineering.

Skills and Experience:

Strong object-oriented development skills.
Proficient in at least one programming language (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript, Go), and software security and testing
Fundamental knowledge of build tools (e.g. Maven, Gradle, NPM, etc.)
Jenkins
Proficient in Groovy and Jenkins Pipeline development
Experience in developing or using Jenkins Pipeline Shared Libraries is preferred
Experience in managing Jenkins servers is preferred
Kubernetes – experience in deploying and managing Kubernetes workloads
Fundamental knowledge of Docker, Helm, Kubernetes workloads, networking and storage concepts, and troubleshooting skills is preferred
Fundamental knowledge of Linux, Shell Scripting, and Git
Basic experience in using Ansible/Terraform
Experience in using SDLC Tools – SCM(Bitbucket/GitHub), Artifactory, SonarQube, HashiCorp Vault, ServiceNow
Basic experience using observability tools (Splunk, Dynatrace, Prometheus, etc.)
Basic Public Cloud knowledge (AWS preferred)
Familiar with Agile work environment (Kanban)
