We are currently looking to hire a Junior Risk Intelligence Analyst to join our team embedded with our client in Menlo Park, CA! This position allows for remote work arrangements within the United States.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Risk Intelligence Analyst will support reputational, integrity, and third-party due diligence efforts by conducting in-depth open-source and public records research and producing clear, well-structured due diligence reports. This role focuses on identifying, analyzing, and communicating reputational, regulatory, legal, and political risks associated with individuals and entities.
The analyst will conduct adverse media research, background investigations, and risk-based due diligence reviews, synthesizing findings into client-ready reports that support informed decision-making. This position requires strong analytical judgment, excellent writing skills, and the ability to manage multiple research streams while working with sensitive and confidential information.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct reputational, integrity, and enhanced due diligence (EDD) research on individuals and third parties, including executives, business partners, vendors, and counterparties
Perform adverse media research and public records analysis, including litigation, regulatory actions, sanctions, watchlists, and political exposure / PEP screening
Utilize open-source intelligence (OSINT) techniques and proprietary research tools to identify reputational, legal, financial, and ethical risk indicators
Analyze and assess information for credibility, relevance, and materiality, identifying information gaps and adjusting research strategies as needed
Draft clear, concise, and well-organized due diligence reports that summarize findings, assess risk, and highlight potential red flags
Conduct litigation and regulatory research using public records databases and court systems
Support risk-based due diligence and third-party due diligence (TPDD / TDD) processes in alignment with client policies and compliance standards
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and client teams to tailor research outputs and respond to follow-up inquiries
Maintain discretion and professionalism when handling highly confidential and sensitive information
Communicate effectively with co-workers, management, clients, and partners in a courteous and professional manner
Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 3 years of experience conducting reputational, integrity, or third-party due diligence, background investigations, or corporate intelligence research
Demonstrated experience with adverse media research, public records research, and OSINT methodologies
Strong analytical and writing skills, with the ability to produce high-quality due diligence reports
Experience conducting litigation, regulatory, sanctions, and political exposure research
Comfortable managing multiple research requests in a deadline-driven environment
Proven ability to work collaboratively while also operating independently with minimal supervision
Experience handling sensitive and highly confidential information
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in political science, international affairs, economics, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience
Experience using due diligence and risk intelligence platforms such as WorldCompliance, LexisNexis / Nexis Diligence, Dow Jones Risk & Compliance, TLO, Ontic, PACER, or OpenCorporates
Background in risk advisory, investigations, compliance consulting, financial crime, AML advisory, or corporate intelligence
Familiarity with enhanced due diligence (EDD) and risk-based compliance frameworks
