Wolf Global is an international investigations, advisory, and crisis-management firm. The firm routinely advises corporate and government clients on matters requiring complex, cross-border financial investigations, forensic accounting, asset tracing, and related advisory work.
We are seeking a senior-level financial investigator / forensic accountant, engaged on an independent consulting or contract basis, to lead financial investigative workstreams on large-scale, international forensic audits and related matters.
This is a substantive, hands-on role for an experienced professional who can operate with judgment, discretion, and intellectual independence.
The Role
The successful candidate will lead and conduct financial investigations and forensic accounting in a cross-border environment, working closely with Wolf Global’s leadership and multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities may include:
Leading financial investigative workstreams involving complex entities, transactions, and structures across jurisdictions
Conducting forensic accounting analyses of financial records, banking data, and related documentation
Identifying, analyzing, and explaining financial flows, relationships, and anomalies
Supporting asset identification and tracing efforts in coordination with investigators and legal teams
Preparing clear, rigorous written work product, including investigative memoranda and formal reports
Exercising professional judgment in incomplete, imperfect, or adversarial data environments
Collaborating with counsel, subject-matter experts, and, where appropriate, clients or external stakeholders
This role is investigative, analytical, and report-driven. It is not a mechanical data-processing position.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a professional who combines technical competence with investigative judgment.
Required / Strongly Preferred Qualifications:
Significant experience in financial investigations and/or forensic accounting, ideally in cross-border matters
Demonstrated ability to lead workstreams independently and responsibly
One or more relevant professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CA, CFE, CAMS, or equivalent)
Advanced proficiency in Excel and comfort working directly with financial data
Experience producing high-quality written work suitable for senior decision-makers and external scrutiny
Sound professional judgment, discretion, and attention to detail
Relevant Backgrounds May Include:
Senior forensic or investigative roles at Big Four firms or established forensic boutiques
Financial investigations experience within government, regulatory, enforcement, or intelligence environments
Comparable investigative or advisory experience requiring independent analytical judgment
Titles and institutions matter less than substantive responsibility, judgment, and demonstrated competence.
Engagement Structure
Engagement type: Independent consulting or contract position, with the opportunity for full-time permanent placement for the right individual
Duration: Open-ended, project-driven
Location: Primarily remote, with potential on-site work in foreign jurisdictions and occasional in-person meetings in Wolf Global’s Miami or New York offices
Travel: Occasional international travel

Compensation
Compensation is market-competitive and commensurate with experience. Rates will be discussed with candidates engaged on a consulting basis, subject to review based on scope, seniority, and responsibilities.
