THE ROLE
As a Senior Software Engineer at GDPRLocal, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and evolving the core systems that power our compliance SaaS platform. You will be responsible for delivering robust, scalable, and high-performing backend solutions that support our products and services used by hundreds of clients across Europe and beyond.
Working closely with the Product and Engineering, as well as the end users, you will take ownership of complex technical challenges — from system architecture and feature development to performance optimisation and technical excellence. You will contribute not only through hands-on development, but also by sharing knowledge, setting best practices, and helping drive continuous improvement across the engineering team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using .NET Core and ASP.NET MVC
· Lead the implementation of new features and enhancements across existing systems, ensuring high code quality and performance
· Contribute to application architecture decisions, technical design, and best practices
· Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following SOLID principles and modern design patterns
· Optimize application and database performance, including troubleshooting and refactoring where needed
· Collaborate closely with product owners, stakeholders, and fellow engineers to translate business requirements into technical solutions
· Perform code reviews, mentor team members, and actively contribute to knowledge sharing within the engineering team
· Participate in Agile ceremonies (planning, reviews, retrospectives) and support continuous improvement of development processes
ABOUT YOU
· 5+ years of professional experience working with .NET technologies, with strong expertise in C#
· Proven experience with .NET Core and ASP.NET MVC in production environments
· Solid understanding of web application architecture and server-side development
· Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript; familiarity with modern front-end integration
· Experience working with relational databases, preferably Microsoft SQL Server
· Hands-on experience with Entity Framework / ORM tools
· Comfortable working in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban)
· Strong understanding of clean code practices, SOLID principles, and maintainable architecture
· Experience with Git-based source control, including feature branching, pull requests, and code reviews
· Familiarity with UI frameworks such as Bootstrap
· Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while contributing effectively to a team
· Strong communication skills and a problem-solving mindset
