Job Specifications
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Python Engineer to modernize and build a scalable, event-driven microservices platform with advanced analytics and forecasting capabilities. This role involves translating complex business logic from legacy systems into clean, maintainable Python services, building high-throughput data pipelines, and developing near real-time decision-support solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Lead hands-on development of Python-based microservices for a critical enterprise platform
Reverse-engineer complex business logic from legacy systems (including compiled code, DB schemas, stored procedures, and undocumented rules)
Design and build event-driven components for event aggregation, impact analysis, and rules-based processing
Integrate with event streaming platforms (Kafka, etc.) for near real-time processing at scale
Build high-performance data pipelines capable of handling millions of records and evolving schemas
Develop analytics and forecasting models using time-series analysis, statistical modeling, and ML
Optimize systems for low latency (p95 < 100ms) and high throughput (10K+ TPS)
Write unit, integration, performance, and end-to-end tests
Work with Docker and Kubernetes for deployment and scaling
Implement CI/CD pipelines and monitor production systems
Collaborate closely with Solution Architects and mentor junior engineers
Required Skills & Experience
10+ years of software development experience, with strong Python focus
Expert-level Python using FastAPI / Flask
Strong experience with event-driven microservices (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus)
Deep understanding of async programming, concurrency, and distributed systems
Proven experience reverse-engineering legacy systems with minimal documentation
Experience with decompilers, debuggers, and profiling tools
Strong data structures, algorithms, and problem-solving skills
Advanced analytics & forecasting experience (ARIMA, Prophet, LSTM, scikit-learn, statsmodels)
Strong data handling using Pandas, NumPy, and ETL pipelines
Experience processing large-scale datasets (GB–TB) using Dask, Ray, or PySpark
Performance optimization expertise (cProfile, Py-Spy, async I/O tuning)
Experience with schedulers and background jobs (Celery, Airflow, cron)
Strong SQL & relational DB knowledge (Postgres, SQL Server, read replicas, optimization)
Hands-on Docker & Kubernetes experience
Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Domain experience in supply chain, logistics, manufacturing, inventory, or e-commerce
Legacy migration experience (AS400, mainframe, RPG, COBOL)
Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Data warehousing tools (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery)
Workflow orchestration tools (Prefect, Dagster)
Caching (Redis, Memcached)
Observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)
Experience leading or mentoring engineering teams
