The Team

The purpose of the GCME Securities Operations Technology team is to provide technology support for the business applications and related processes and key technology vendors that underpin the activities of Global Wholesale Operations (GWO) globally. Domains include collateral management, new issue trading, and core Broadridge Book of Record and document management systems and their related interfaces. The team partners with GWO and other global and vendor partners in delivering Technology Change within defined risk and control frameworks.

The GCME Securities Operations Technology – Collateral Management Support team provides application L1 support and triage, production issue and incident management, vendor management, change management, business analysis and product Subject Matter Expertise support for change projects and User Acceptance Testing. Key supported systems are Colline and the Acadiasoft Relay service.

The Role

The role Contributes directly to the support of Collateral Management platforms under the GBME Securities Operations Technology portfolio by ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed and delivered. Supports the team’s business strategies and objectives and the overall success of Technology for Global Banking and Markets. Ensures all activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

The incumbent is responsible for ensuring steady state delivery of Colline and related application functions and deliverables within defined business SLOs and working closely with GTA and other Technology counterparts and GWO product owners to elicit, analyze and document business and technology requirements and execute on plans.

Support a partnership between Operations Technology and GWO Collateral Management that adds value to the delivery of GWO mandates, while encouraging and recommending efficiency improvements to operations.
Contribute to the delivery of Level 1 production support to global users, maintenance support (scheduled releases, regulatory changes, configuration updates), vendor management, system enhancements, production bug fixes, Quality Assurance testing (UAT), and resolution of complex operational/systems problems.
Keep appraised of scheduled releases ensuring the business lines are aware of coming changes and their impacts and scheduling to ensure sufficient resources/time is allotted for testing and implementation. Provide recommendations and guidance on client-initiated operational and system solutions ensuring that GCME and stakeholder interests are served.
Ensure the maintenance of stable and secure processing platforms per Bank IT control, information security and risk policies. Contribute to the delivery of solutions, with vendors and internal Technology partners, where issues or negative trends are identified that threaten defined SLAs.
Work in tandem with Scotia Technology teams and external service providers to deliver Change in accordance with agreed systems strategy. Contribute to sprint plans and retrospectives and help foster a learning mindset and culture of improvement.
Support parts of multi-disciplinary projects of varying size and complexity, ensuring regulatory, compliance, audit, client, and vendor issues are addressed and resolved, and project components are delivered on time, on budget and with quality. Support delivery of projects through the Enterprise Delivery Framework quality gates. Communicate status, risks, and issues to project and delivery managers proactively.

Candidates should have in-depth understanding of the collateral management domain and market practices, with experience of the Colline (Vermeg), Margining process (IM,VM,REPO) and other Capital Markets trading or operations environments an asset.
Candidates should have 5+ years of Business Analysis experience
Candidates should have conceptual understanding of platform design, data and workflows, and related processing capabilities, modules, and interfaces and be able to produce and maintain related documentation.
Candidates should have the ability to gather and analyze data from various sources and use BI tools to support decision making and present findings to stakeholders.
Candidates should have experience working with business partners to identify, assess, and document business requirements into Business Requirements Documents, recommending business priorities, and advising business on options, risks, and
